Customizing Your App's Wording
Tab names, the hero message, and every label your members read in the app are yours to change. You don't need to be a developer — it's all in your FaithMade dashboard under Church App → Settings → Wording.
Where Wording Lives
Open your FaithMade dashboard and go to Church App → Settings → Wording. You'll find:
- Tab names — the labels on the bottom navigation bar (Home, Sermons, Groups, etc.)
- Hero message — the big greeting that anchors your app's home screen
- Section labels — headings and button text throughout the app
Every template shares the same Wording settings. If you switch templates later, your wording carries over.
The Hero Message
The hero message is the large headline that appears on every home screen template — a short, welcoming phrase like "Welcome home" or your church's tagline.
Change it in Wording → Hero Message, then save. It will show up the next time you open the preview.
The hero message is displayed large and centered. One line — five to eight words — works best on every template. Long phrases wrap awkwardly on small phones.
When Changes Appear
- Web preview: Save your changes and refresh the preview tab (or reopen it). Your updated wording appears immediately.
- Installed apps on members' phones: The app fetches its configuration live each time it opens. Members don't need to update their app — changes appear on the next launch.
If you're testing on a physical phone and changes aren't showing up, close the app fully and reopen it. A fresh launch fetches the latest configuration from your site.
Terminology Your Members Already Know
FaithMade defaults to common church-software terms (Sermons, Groups, Events). If your church uses different language — Messages instead of Sermons, Community instead of Groups — just update the Wording fields to match. There's no wrong answer; use whatever your congregation already calls things.
